A 12-year-old girl is in a critical condition in hospital after being struck by an e-bike in a hit-and-run incident in Warrington.
Emergency services were called to Long Lane, Orford, at about 2.40pm on Wednesday 17 June, following reports of a collision involving an e-bike and a child. Officers found the girl with serious injuries, and she was taken to hospital, where she remains in a critical condition.
The rider of the e-bike failed to stop at the scene, prompting an appeal from Cheshire Police. The road was closed while the girl received treatment, with one eyewitness reporting a helicopter overhead.
Detective Sergeant Russ Sime appealed for anyone with information to come forward. He said: "We are appealing for anyone who witnessed what happened and has not already spoken to police to please get in touch with us. This occurred at a busy time of day when there would have been a lot of traffic and footfall in the area."
He also urged anyone with relevant CCTV or dashcam footage to contact police, either by calling 101 or via the force's website, quoting incident number IML-2352667.
