Brides Re-Wear Wedding Dresses: Celebrities Embrace Bridal Fashion Beyond the Aisle
Brides Re-Wear Wedding Dresses: Celebrities Embrace Bridal Fashion

While wedding days are often hoped to be once-in-a-lifetime experiences, the bridal gown is one aspect that is perhaps worth repeating. More and more brides are now re-wearing their pricey dresses to other glitzy events, and celebrities are not above the practice. Numerous famous faces have re-styled their wedding gowns over the years for red carpet occasions and the like, giving their bridal numbers a chance to shine in the spotlight once again.

Roxy Horner Takes Her Gown to the Supermarket

British model and newlywed Roxy Horner even wore her wedding dress down the supermarket aisle following her nuptials to Jack Whitehall, 37, in April 2026. In footage shared by the influencer recently, the 34-year-old bride declared, 'I refuse to wear this once,' as she walked through the food store with her trolley. Roxy, who said 'I Do' to comedian Jack Whitehall last month, took recycling her wedding attire to the extreme in a hilarious video capturing her walking through her local food shop in the stylish gown. She and television star Jack Whitehall tied the knot at 17th-century Euridge Manor in the Cotswolds last month in a strapless silk sculpted gown from Galia Lahav. As she walked down the aisle with her trolley, she penned: 'He asked me to walk down the aisle again... So I dressed appropriately!' She then added in her caption: 'I refuse to wear this dress just once.' On her big day at the gorgeous Cotswolds country estate, Roxy, who shares daughter Elsie with Jack, changed into her second dress for the party and also had a veil from the designer, while adding Alaia's Le Coeur heels and jewellery from Roxanne Assoulin.

Emily Blunt's Golden Globes Bridal Look

At the Golden Globes in January, Emily Blunt stunned in an all-white Louis Vuitton gown paired with Christian Louboutin heels and delicate Tiffany jewellery pieces. The stunning outfit was deemed a 'bridal fashion' look. Emily, 43, made an entrance in a white, sculpted one-shoulder gown adorned with sparkling silver buttons that extended to a high neckline. The elegant design fell into a fishtail skirt, offering a glimpse of her incredible figure. The two-piece, which included a cape-like top and floor-length skirt, was described by many as synonymous with 'bridal fashion' and could well have been mistaken as the dress she selected for her own big day. However, when Emily wed actor John Krasinski in July 2010, she instead opted for a cream chiffon Marchesa gown with a sweetheart neckline and carefully crafted detailing. Reflecting on her fairytale Italian nuptials later, Emily joked that her only regret from the day was using a 'patchy' DIY spray tan.

Queen Camilla's Timeless Re-Wear

Twenty years on from her wedding, Queen Camilla showcased her timeless style in its truest form by choosing to re-wear her wedding outfit, albeit with some slight modifications, during a visit to the Italian Parliament with the King last January. Queen Camilla and King Charles's wedding day in 2005 was certainly more of a low-key affair than the monarch's previous nuptials to Princess Diana at London's Westminster Abbey. For the civil ceremony at Guildhall, the Queen opted for an ivory silk chiffon dress with a scalloped trim, alongside a striking tailored coat and Philip Treacy hat. But 20 years on, the monarch showcased her timeless style by choosing to re-wear her wedding outfit during a visit to the Italian Parliament with the King last January. Her Majesty appeared in the Anna Valentine design, which has been repurposed two decades later by the same designer, for the third day of the couple's State Visit to Italy. The outfit now features additional embroidery details by the King's Foundation artisan Beth Somerville. The Queen chose to wear the frock to attend the Italian Parliament with her husband Charles. She paired the white gown with a pearl necklace, gold bracelets, her engagement ring, and a cream handbag. Camilla originally donned the stunning outfit for her Guildhall civil ceremony before changing into a dazzling blue ensemble for the reception. However, this is not the first time the monarch has recycled her wedding attire. In 2007, a mere two years after her wedding, she broke with tradition by wearing the dress for the opening of the National Assembly for Wales.

Gwyneth Paltrow's Oscar Glamour

At the 2026 Oscars, Gwyneth Paltrow turned heads in a daring white Giorgio Armani Prive gown with high-thigh slits. For some, the look may have been somewhat reminiscent of a bridal gown, despite its more racy side slits. Attending the 98th Annual Academy Awards, Gwyneth, 53, stunned onlookers with the custom look which featured a strapless neckline and sparkling embellishments. In reality, however, when Gwyneth Paltrow said 'I Do' in September 2018, she opted for a cap-sleeved lace Valentino dress as she finally tied the knot with writer, director, and producer Brad Falchuk. Afterwards, the bride changed into a white playsuit designed by her pal Stella McCartney in time for dancing to 80s tunes.

Stacey Solomon's BAFTA Re-Wear

The savvy Sort Your Life Out presenter chose to re-wear her wedding dress to the 2025 BAFTA Television Awards in London. In July 2022, television personality Stacey Solomon tied the knot with Joe Swash in an intimate ceremony hosted in the garden of their Essex home, dubbed 'Pickle Cottage'. Dressed in a bespoke, off-white Berta Bridal 'Jessica' gown from Verona Bridal, Stacey's bridal gown was praised by many for its princess-style corset and custom off-the-shoulder straps. Yet the savvy Sort Your Life Out presenter went one step further a few years later and chose to re-wear her wedding dress to the 2025 BAFTA Television Awards in London. Keeping the corseted bodice from the original dress, Stacey removed the off-the-shoulder sleeves and added dramatic pointed detailing to the neckline. However, her skirt was changed into shorts, with a thigh-high slit cut into the sparkling skirt overlay.

Emma Stone's Sustainable Met Gala Look

Renowned American actress Emma Stone walked down the aisle to her now-husband, Dave McCary, in September 2020, with the couple enjoying a private ceremony after their initial plans got cancelled due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Yet while Emma's striking dress was seen by few initially, it was welcomed by a wider audience when she attended the annual Met Gala two years later. The sustainable actress opted to re-wear the gorgeous Louis Vuitton white satin number which features feathered details and a low neckline. She paired the dress, designed by Louis Vuitton's creative designer Nicolas Ghesquiere, with a pair of Louis Vuitton block heels that held silver, chain-like straps. A perfect finish to a rather charming re-wear. While the details of Emma's look were initially kept secret, Vogue later revealed that Emma's outfit for the red carpet was a 'special piece she wore to her wedding afterparty that has never been seen publicly before.'

Lauren Sanchez's Pre-Wedding Glamour

When Lauren Sanchez stepped out with Jeff Bezos for the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar Party last year, many could have easily mistaken her all-white look for a recycled wedding gown. The striking strapless mermaid gown, designed by Oscar de la Renta, was fit with feathered ruffles and a long train that was synonymous with a bridal gown, while her emerald jewellery added a pop of colour to the look. Sanchez wore her hair in long, loose waves, showing off her toned arms as she posed with her hands on her hips. Fitting the part, Bezos even accessorised his outfit with a white bowtie, perhaps a hint at the dress code for their upcoming nuptials. Yet Lauren's glamorous gown was, in reality, mere preparation for her upcoming nuptials, rather than a real wedding gown. When she walked down the aisle on the grounds of an idyllic 18th-century Italian villa, Lauren was a beauty in white in a custom, high-necked Dolce & Gabbana mermaid gown, featuring 180 silk buttons, long sleeves, and a corseted bodice. The impeccable dress, praised by many around the globe, was said to have taken 900 hours to create.
