Brian Cox, the 79-year-old Succession actor, has launched another blistering attack on Reform leader Nigel Farage, calling him a 'bully' and 'slightly fascist'. The comments came during an appearance on BBC One's Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg, where Cox reacted to Farage's interview with the host.
Cox said he found Farage 'very venal, quite honestly, as an individual. He's selfish, and he's on the whole quite uninformed.' He added, 'I just am dazzled at the way a lot of people have been seduced by him, because he's a bit of a bully – you can tell at the way he conducted that interview with you. I thought a lot of it was just badgering, badgering, badgering. I just don't trust the man.'
This is not the first time Cox has criticised Farage. In a 2018 interview with Alastair Campbell, he called Farage a 'phoney man of the people' and used strong language against him and other Brexit supporters, including Boris Johnson, Michael Gove, and Jacob Rees-Mogg. He said, 'That f****r Farage… Johnson with all his f*****g lies… Cameron, what a stupid f*****g thing to do.'
In June 2024, Cox appeared on the same BBC programme and described Farage as 'slightly fascist', sparking an impartiality row. He said, 'I really do worry about the Conservatives. I also think that Nigel Farage is not doing any good at all. I mean, he's really ruining that party.'
