Vince Gilligan, the creator of 'Breaking Bad', is returning with a new sci-fi drama titled 'Pluribus', set to premiere on Apple TV+ on November 7 with two episodes. The series stars Rhea Seehorn, known for her role in 'Better Call Saul', as Carol, described as 'the most miserable person on Earth' who must save humanity from happiness.
The first trailer shows Carol surrounded by eerily cheerful people as the world falls apart. Most of humanity appears to be under a spell, except for Carol. The President of the United States tells her, 'Rest assured, Carol. We will figure out what makes you different. … So you can join us.'
'Pluribus' also features Karolina Wydra, Carlos-Manuel Vesga, and guest stars Miriam Shor and Samba Schutte. The series has already been renewed for a second season by Apple TV+. It is produced by Sony Pictures Television and executive produced by Gilligan alongside Gordon Smith, Alison Tatlock, Diane Mercer, Allyce Ozarski, and Jeff Frost.
In a 2023 interview with Variety, Gilligan teased that the series has 'no crime, and no methamphetamine,' unlike his previous projects. He explained that the world changes abruptly in the first episode, leading to dramatic consequences for future episodes.
