Betting odds suggest President Donald Trump is likely to mention aliens, artificial intelligence and hockey during his State of the Union address, with prediction market Kalshi recording over $10 million in trading volume on the subjects he will bring up.
Kalshi forecasts a 96 percent probability that Trump will mention '250' in reference to the nation's 250th anniversary, followed by 95 percent for 'Trillion' and 92 percent for 'AI / Artificial Intelligence'. The term 'Olympics / World Cup' also has a 92 percent chance, while 'hockey' stands at 90 percent after the US men's team won Olympic gold in Milan this weekend.
The word 'Alien' has an 87 percent likelihood of being uttered, following Trump's order last week to release government files on extraterrestrial life. In contrast, phrases like 'Drill Baby Drill', 'Sleepy Joe' and 'Trump Derangement Syndrome' have less than a 50 percent chance.
Among people and places, Kalshi sees a 95 percent chance Trump will mention Iran, 94 percent for Venezuela, 93 percent for China, 92 percent for Joe Biden, and 87 percent for deposed Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro. The president is expected to highlight his immigration crackdown, military operations and economic handling, according to The Associated Press.
More than two dozen Democrats plan to boycott the event and hold a rival protest, while the attendance of Supreme Court justices remains uncertain after they struck down Trump's tariffs last week, prompting him to call opposing justices 'fools and lapdogs'.
