‘Beautiful Soul’ dies in Westminster hit-and-run

The heart of Westminster was struck by tragedy this week as a pedestrian lost her life following a devastating hit-and-run collision. The incident occurred on Tuesday, 21st May, near the junction of Horseferry Road and Medway Street, an area shadowed by the city's most iconic political landmarks.

Metropolitan Police officers and London Ambulance Service crews rushed to the scene shortly after 8:15 pm, but despite their best efforts, the 58-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries in hospital. The driver responsible failed to stop at the scene, fleeing before authorities could arrive.

A Life Tragically Lost

While formal identification is pending, the victim's family has been notified and is receiving support from specialist officers. In a moving tribute, her loved ones described her as a 'beautiful soul' whose loss has left a void in their lives.

"We are utterly heartbroken by the loss of a beautiful soul," the family statement read. "She was a much-loved sister, aunt, and friend, and we would ask that our privacy is respected as we grieve."

Police Hunt for the Driver

The Metropolitan Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit has launched a comprehensive investigation. They are urgently appealing to the public for witnesses, dashcam footage, or any information that could lead to identifying the vehicle and its driver.

Detectives believe the vehicle involved may have sustained damage to its front end. They are meticulously reviewing local CCTV networks to trace the car's route before and after the collision.
