Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta refused to engage with speculation regarding Pep Guardiola's future at Manchester City, following reports that the 55-year-old will depart after Sunday's clash with Aston Villa. City face Bournemouth in midweek before hosting Villa, needing victories in both to maintain a chance at the Premier League title.
Arteta's Reaction to Guardiola News
Speaking to Sky Sports after Arsenal's win over Burnley, Arteta was asked about Guardiola's reported decision. He stated: "Once he makes that decision then we can talk about it. Before that, nobody should do it." The Gunners boss also sidestepped questions about watching City's match against Bournemouth, saying: "I just want to enjoy tonight and then tomorrow we will see what we will do."
Title Race Implications
Anything less than a win for City against Bournemouth will crown Arsenal champions. Guardiola had urged his side to take the race to the final day, but his potential departure after a trophy-laden decade—including 20 trophies following the FA Cup triumph—could reshape City's future.
Arteta added: "We know the quality that Andoni has done and the record that they have right now. Everything is possible." He emphasized preparation for the upcoming match against Crystal Palace as the priority.
