Several high-profile departures were confirmed, with Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy saying he would continue to support the Government "from the backbenches" and wishing Andy Burnham "every success". Other notable exits include Business Secretary Peter Kyle, who was reportedly sacked, and several ministers who served under Sir Keir Starmer's leadership.

John Healey has been named Chancellor. Ed Miliband has been appointed Foreign Secretary. Shabana Mahmood will remain Home Secretary. Wes Streeting has been confirmed as Defence Secretary.
Louise Haigh has been named as First Secretary of State, Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster and minister for the Cabinet Office. Yvette Cooper has been appointed Health Secretary. Pat McFadden will remain as Secretary of State for Work and Pensions. Bridget Phillipson will remain a member of Cabinet as Minister for Women and Equalities in Andy Burnham’s Government but is no longer education secretary.
