Prime Minister Andy Burnham will deliver the biggest speech of his political life today in Liverpool. The Labour leader returns to the city of his birth to give his keynote speech to the party conference.
Vision for the Nation
Having become Prime Minister at the start of the summer, taking over from Sir Keir Starmer, the new leader has been starting to set out his vision for the nation. He will flesh that vision out in Liverpool today.
The Prime Minister will explain how he can provide "hope" for the nation and will pledge to break away from "politics as usual" in order to confront some of the big challenges of our time - including reforming social care and tackling youth unemployment.
Pensions Speculation
But many will be watching closely to see if Mr Burnham may signal a potential move away from the pensions triple-lock to pay for his planned reforms to social care.
