Zayn Malik Ends Twitter Hiatus, Thanks Fans for Support

Zayn Malik has broken a month-long silence on Twitter, posting two messages thanking his loyal fans. The 22-year-old singer, who quit One Direction in March, wrote on Monday: 'Wanna say thanks to everyone that's been there for me over the last few weeks, love you all.. you know who you are x'. A second tweet added: 'The x is a kiss by the way ha it's not a mystery .. sorry to any confused ...'

The tweets come nearly a month after Malik reacted angrily to claims of a fling while partying in Indonesia during a break from the band's tour. He had tweeted on March 18: 'I'm 22 years old... I love a girl named Perrie Edwards. And there's a lot of jealous f***s in this world I'm sorry for what it looks like x.' The singer was referring to images published by MailOnline showing him with tattooed holidaymaker Lauren Richardson at a nightclub in Phuket.

Malik made his first public appearance since leaving the band at the Asian Awards in London on Friday, where he posed with producer Naughty Boy and Indian actor Shah Rukh Khan. Meanwhile, filmmaker Morgan Spurlock, who directed One Direction's 2013 documentary 'This Is Us', has predicted that Harry Styles will be next to leave the group. Spurlock told TMZ: 'I think they'll stay together for a little bit longer and I think at some point Harry will probably leave.'
