Zayn Malik has addressed a viral clip showing him asking a crowd to “get the f*** out of the way” outside a Manchester hotel. The former One Direction star was seen struggling to reach his car amid a crowd of fans in footage shared by TMZ.
In an Instagram comment on TMZ TV’s account, Malik, 33, clarified that his frustration was not directed at fans but at “multiple fully grown men that were blocking the doors of the hotel and the car for 10 minutes not letting us or security out”. He described these individuals as “stalkers” who “ruin it for the real fans”.
Malik performed in Manchester on 24 May, a day after starting his UK tour in London to support his latest album, Konnakol. He had previously cancelled a US tour due to undisclosed health issues but has since recovered.
The singer also referenced a Netflix documentary that was scrapped after an alleged altercation with former bandmate Louis Tomlinson. Reports claimed Malik punched Tomlinson after a remark about Tomlinson’s late mother, leaving him with a concussion. Representatives for both did not comment at the time.
