Three of the Married at First Sight USA panel experts have left the show simultaneously, marking a significant shake-up for the popular dating series. Channel 4 is currently airing the American version of the dating experiment, which sees strangers from across the country putting their hearts on the line.
Season 19 Overview
Season 19 is set in Austin, Texas, where over 105,000 singles applied for a spot on the series. Only five couples were ultimately selected for this season, including one duo who met almost a decade before getting married on the show. The season first aired in America in October 2025, with the reunion dropping in November. Following its broadcast, show bosses confirmed that the MAFS panel would not be returning for the 20th series.
The Expert Panel
The USA version features a trio of experts, including Pastor Cal Roberson, sociologist Dr. Pepper Schwartz, and psychotherapist Dr. Pia Holec. Dr. Pepper Schwartz is the longest-standing member of the panel, having been part of the show since Season 1. She is a sexologist and professor of sociology at the University of Washington.
Why Did the Experts Leave?
The show's production company, Kinetic Content, revealed in January that they were taking a new direction. It appears they are simply shaking up the panel in line with the show's recent move from American network Lifetime to streaming service Peacock. Kinetic founder Chris Coelen told Variety: "We're thrilled to be embarking on a brand new chapter of the 'MAFS' journey with our partners at Peacock. We're excited for the future and honoured to have worked alongside Dr. Pepper, Pastor Cal, and Dr. Pia."
Coelen added: "Dr. Pepper has been with us from the beginning and Pastor Cal joined us shortly thereafter; their unwavering wisdom, insight, and passion has been a guiding light for us throughout the seasons."
Dr. Pepper Schwartz's Statement
When her exit was announced, Dr. Schwartz said: "As I step away, I do so with immense pride in what this franchise has accomplished and deep confidence in its future. I leave this post with gratitude and optimism, knowing that the foundation we've built will continue to evolve and inspire."
Married at First Sight USA continues on E4 tonight at 8pm.
