Vernon Kay Thanks Listeners After Tess Daly Split

Vernon Kay has thanked BBC Radio 2 listeners for their support following his separation from Tess Daly. The couple, married since September 2003 and parents to two daughters, announced the end of their marriage on Friday.

In a joint statement shared on Instagram, they said they would “separate amicably” after 22 years, emphasising that no other parties were involved. They added that they remain great friends and are fully committed to co-parenting.

Opening his Radio 2 show on Monday, Kay said: “I just want to say on behalf of me and Tess, thank you for all your well wishes, it has been greatly, greatly appreciated.”

The former Strictly Come Dancing presenter, 57, and the BBC Radio 2 DJ, 52, have two daughters: Phoebe, born in October 2004, and Amber, born in May 2009. Both are former models who became successful presenters.

Their marriage faced public scrutiny in 2010 when Kay admitted sending explicit texts to several women. He apologised on air, and Daly later said their partnership was “worth fighting for”.
