The wedding of Venezuela Fury, 16, daughter of boxing champion Tyson Fury and his wife Paris, to aspiring heavyweight boxer Noah Price has left a group of holidaymakers disgruntled after they were refused entry to the church hosting the ceremony.
Church Closure Sparks Disappointment
The Victorian Royal Chapel of St John's, situated near the Fury family's home on the Isle of Man, was closed to the public on Saturday morning. A sign on the door read: "Sorry, church closed today." This led to a coachload of tourists being turned away, with many expressing frustration at missing the opportunity to view the interior.
One passenger, a florist, told MailOnline: "It's a shame we couldn't go in. I actually wanted to see what the decorations were like inside. I don't know how they can close it up. I heard it's supposed to be lovely inside, but we shall have to give it a miss." Another commented: "I've heard of Mike Tyson but not Tyson Fury."
Extravagant Wedding Details
The wedding was a lavish affair, with Venezuela wearing an Italian lace wedding gown featuring a 50-foot train. The reception, held at the Comis Hotel near Douglas, featured a performance by 1990s pop legend Peter Andre, who sang classics including "Mysterious Girl." However, the celebration took a dramatic turn when four police cars reportedly rushed to the hotel shortly after the performance.
Controversy Over Age
The bride's age has sparked significant debate, with many critics arguing that 16 is too young to marry. However, Paris Fury has defended her daughter's decision, stating: "Venezuela is so mature for her years. She's done so much in such a short time just because of who she is and the fact that she's got six younger brothers and sisters that she's helped bring up. I can't deny her, because I was 17 when I got engaged."
Venezuela also paid tribute to her father on her wedding day, saying: "Well I couldn't have asked for a better father. All my life he has gone above and beyond for me. 1 in a million. My best friend and my worst enemy in one. My father TYSON LUKE FURY."
Family Support
The Fury family has rallied around the couple, with Paris emphasizing her support: "She's obviously following in my footsteps, so how can I judge her in any way. I know she's young. But I think she's found the person she loves and if she's happy, I will completely support her."
