A British classic car firm has entered liquidation after 27 years of trading, marking another blow to the UK motoring sector. Awesome Classic and Custom, a specialist in historic vehicle upholstery based in Cambridgeshire, appointed liquidators on May 29, according to the London Gazette.
The company, which operated from Fen Road, Pidley, near Huntingdon, worked on vehicles including the Bentley MKVI and Porsche 911 Super Sport. Its services covered interior restoration and redesign, using materials such as Alcantara, leather, and faux leather, as well as leather repair and care.
David Gerard Kirk has been named as the liquidator. A Resolution for Winding-Up order and a Notice to Creditors have been issued, with creditors required to prove their debts by June 30, 2026. No confirmation has been given regarding potential redundancies.
Awesome Classic and Custom also provided upholstery services for campervans and motorhomes. The company had been in business since 1999.
