A UK plumbing company that has been operating for nearly half a century has entered liquidation. G.W. Monsons & Sons Limited, a commercial boiler specialist based in Newtownards, Northern Ireland, began the winding-down process on May 16.
Final Meeting Scheduled
The company will hold its final annual meeting at 10am on June 23 at the offices of Lecale Corporate Finance & Restructuring Limited, located at 50 Stranmillis Embankment, Belfast. During this meeting, the liquidator’s final report and receipts and payments account will either be approved or the liquidator will be granted his release.
A Long-Standing Business
Incorporated on March 18, 1977, the commercial boiler specialist has been in operation for 47 years. The winding-up period is expected to last approximately three months. It remains unclear how many employees are affected by the collapse.
This liquidation follows a trend of struggling businesses in the plumbing sector. Centurion Plumbing Services Ltd, based in Muir of Ord in the Scottish Highlands, reportedly stopped trading on March 31 due to cash flow pressures, resulting in at least ten job losses.
