G.W. Monsons & Sons Limited, a commercial boiler specialist based in Newtownards, Northern Ireland, has entered liquidation after nearly 50 years in business. The winding-down process began on May 16, according to official notices.
The company, incorporated on March 18, 1977, will hold its final annual meeting on June 23 at 10am at the offices of Lecale Corporate Finance & Restructuring Limited in Belfast. The meeting will consider the liquidator's final report and receipts and payments account, or grant the liquidator his release.
The liquidation is expected to take approximately three months. It is currently unclear how many employees have been affected by the collapse.
The news follows the recent liquidation of Centurion Plumbing Services Ltd, based in Muir of Ord in the Scottish Highlands, which stopped trading on March 31, resulting in at least ten job losses. Both cases highlight ongoing pressures in the plumbing and heating sector.
