When Donald Trump has finally dragged his orange behind out of the White House, we’re going to look back on his second term as more than a bit ranty.
Like many who don’t really understand how social media works, Trump’s approach to posting is a more-is-more one. He likes to flood the feeds with his own voice – which means that anyone who follows his Truth Social media page probably has an experience resembling what’s going on inside the US president’s own head. Just unmitigated Trump.
Whether he’s screaming about how he wants to bomb Iran off the face of the planet, or even throwing his wife and son under the bus – the leader of the Free World doesn’t always come across as a beacon of sanity online.
It’s not just social media which is reserved for Trump’s ire either. He also likes an in-person rant. Such is the relentless mania of the rants, many health professionals have pitched in with their concerns about his mental wellbeing.
Earlier this year psychiatrist Tracy King told the Irish Star that “the volume, the overnight timing, and the intensity all suggest a high level of nervous system activation.”
Unholy row
In April this year, the president launched a blistering attack on the Pope after the pontiff called for an end to the war in the Middle East and blasted world leaders who "sacrifice every value" for their own egos.
Trump hit back in a lengthy rant about Pope Leo XIV in which he branded him "weak on crime, weak on nuclear weapons" and even said he preferred his brother, who is "all MAGA".
After this, Trump posted an AI picture of himself as Jesus Christ. Speaking to Daily Star, Professor Anthony Glees dubbed the outburst “beyond loopy”.
Transgender mice
Trump didn’t wait around to attempt to make the outgoing Joe Biden administration look stupid and also in the process raise more than a few eyebrows.
In his first public outing after re-taking office in January 2025, Trump made a bizarre claim that Biden had “spent $8million making mice transgender”.
The comment drew laughs from those in the audience, as well as online, as people believed Trump appeared to be confusing it with “transgenic mice”.
Third term?
Following his re-election, Trump already had his sights set on a third stint in the White House - except, that isn't allowed.
During a Black History Month event at the White House on February 20 last year, Trump gave a speech in which he claimed to have garnered "more votes from Black Americans than any Republican president ever."
"I won't be happy the next time," he added, before asking the audience: "Should I run again? You tell me."
Despite Trump's insinuations, the 22nd Amendment states that running for a third term isn't possible.
‘Open the F***** Strait’
Over the course of the US’ war with Iran, Trump announced a series of deadlines for Iran. It all came to a head in mid-April, where he took to Truth Social to reaffirm this demand.
He wrote: "Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the F*****' Strait, you crazy b******, or you'll be living in Hell - JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah. President DONALD J. TRUMP"
Afterwards, he told Fox News there was a "good chance" a deal would be reached on Monday, but he was considering "blowing everything up and taking over the oil" if a deal to end the war was not reached quickly.
General Ali Abdollahi Aliabadi of Iran's central military command said Trump's threat was a "helpless, nervous, unbalanced and stupid action", adding that "the gates of hell will open" for the US leader.
