At least 15 people have been killed in a series of US-Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon and Iran, according to state media reports. In Lebanon, an Israeli airstrike on the Jnah area of southern Beirut killed four people and injured 39 others, while a separate strike on Kfar Hatta in southern Lebanon killed seven people, including a four-year-old girl. Hezbollah said it launched missiles towards northern Israel, which the IDF says it intercepted.
In Iran, the Shahid Qasem Soleimani International Airport in southwestern Iran was hit by US-Israeli airstrikes, state media reported. At least five people were killed in attacks in south-west Iran during rescue operations for a downed F-15E fighter jet. The second crew member of the jet was rescued by the US overnight, ending a two-day search. President Donald Trump said the crew member was 'seriously wounded' but 'safe and sound'.
Trump used abusive language on Truth Social to call on Iran to let ships through the Strait of Hormuz, threatening to further attack Iranian energy and transport infrastructure. He said: 'Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the Fuckin’ Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell - JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah.'
Kuwait Petroleum Corporation said several facilities were targeted by Iranian drone attacks, resulting in fires and 'significant material losses'. Two power and water desalination plants also sustained damage. No injuries were reported.
