Donald Trump has sparked fresh health concerns following an interview aired on Tuesday night with Fox News journalist Trace Gallagher. During the conversation, which focused on Iran and the US economy, Trump made a remark about recording the show that led to widespread online speculation about his cognitive state.
Trump's TiVo Comment Draws Attention
Trump told Gallagher, "You have such a good show. I watch your show all the time. Sometimes I tape it and watch it. It's okay. I don't know what they call it today. They used to call it TiVo. Maybe they still do. But I love TiVo or its equivalent." Gallagher awkwardly replied, "DVR." Trump concluded, "But you do a great job."
The exchange quickly went viral on X, with users commenting on the president's apparent confusion. One wrote, "He's forgetting words and terms, this is cognitive decline." Another quipped, "Donny Dementia." Others noted he seemed "out of touch," with one remarking, "It doesn't get more out of touch than TiVo."
Ongoing Scrutiny Over Health
Trump, who turned 80 in June, has faced ongoing scrutiny about his physical and cognitive health. In recent months, he has been seen apparently falling asleep during major meetings and has been pictured with bruising and swelling on his hands. More recently, he sparked backlash with comments about World War II.
On Sunday, Trump said, "We had an attack planned that would have been the biggest attack since World War II, and it would have been disastrous for them [Iran]. They didn't want us to do it. And frankly, Saudi Arabia didn't want it either. I thought a deal was imminent."
Responding to those comments on X, one user wrote, "Claiming an attack bigger than WW2 was minutes away from happening is a crazy statement to make publicly." Another agreed, saying, "Just lies. He wants a deal, he's got dementia, he dozes off and wakes up believing his lies. Classic frontal lobe dementia."
