Donald Trump has unveiled a special new belt ahead of the historic UFC White House event, which is set to take place on June 14. The US President welcomed several UFC stars, including Ilia Topuria, Justin Gaethje, Alex Pereira, and Ciryl Gane, to the Oval Office to promote the upcoming showcase in Washington next month.
Event Details
The blockbuster event will be held on the South Lawn of the White House, coinciding with America's 250th anniversary and Trump's 80th birthday. The main event features a lightweight title fight between Topuria and Gaethje, with Topuria defending the undisputed 155lb strap for the first time after knocking out Charles Oliveira last year.
In the co-main event, Pereira and Gane will compete for the interim heavyweight title. Other fighters on the billing include Sean O'Malley, Michael Chandler, Josh Hokit, Derrick Lewis, and Diego Lopes.
New Championship Belt
Perhaps the most eye-catching moment came when Trump presented a new championship belt. The gold belt features a USA-inspired flag across its middle plate, with Roman numerals positioned slightly below to honor America's independence in 1776. The belt provides an extra incentive for the fighters competing at the event.
Venue and Ticket Information
Trump also gave fans a glimpse of the venue layout, showing renderings of a cage in the colors of the American flag positioned in front of the White House, surrounded by hundreds of spectators. About 5,000 invited guests will be seated on the South Lawn, with an additional 75,000 to 100,000 people in the "fan zone" on the Ellipse, the park adjacent to the White House grounds. A small number of tickets will be available for purchase, with prices reportedly around £1.1 million. The package, called "Partner Investment," includes access to a welcome reception, press conference reserved seating, ceremonial weigh-ins, general admission, a Zak Brown concert, and tickets to UFC 329 on July 11, which could feature the return of Conor McGregor.
Trump has promised a groundbreaking event, dubbing it the "greatest show on Earth." He stated, "June 14, we're having a big fight. It's never going to happen again; it's never happened before. It's all the best fighters, the best four standing behind me, all four champions, and it's going to happen right in front of the White House. This will be the greatest show on Earth."
