US President Donald Trump has threatened to sue the Wall Street Journal after it reported that he contributed a sketch of a naked woman to Jeffrey Epstein's 50th birthday album. Trump described the letter as a 'fake' and accused the publication, owned by Rupert Murdoch, of publishing false information.
The controversy comes as Trump faces growing pressure over his administration's handling of the Epstein case. On Thursday, he directed Attorney General Pam Bondi to seek the release of grand jury testimony related to Epstein's sex-trafficking case, in an apparent attempt to defuse the situation.
The fallout has also complicated House Republicans' plans to vote on legislation demanded by Trump to slash government spending. The vote, scheduled for Thursday, now faces uncertainty as the Epstein story continues to dominate headlines.
