The Guardian has obtained three missing FBI memos containing explicit but unsubstantiated claims that Donald Trump sexually abused a woman when she was a minor in the early 1980s, with the assistance of Jeffrey Epstein. The documents, which are FBI form 302 reports from four interviews in 2019, were not included in the Department of Justice's release of millions of pages of Epstein-related files in December.
The woman alleged that Epstein began abusing her at age 13 around 1983 in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, and later took her to a building in New York or New Jersey where she was introduced to Trump. She claimed Trump attempted to assault her after saying, 'Let me teach you how little girls are supposed to be,' and that she bit him, prompting him to strike her and have her removed.
The allegations have not been verified, and the FBI never brought charges. They contradict known details of Epstein's life in the early 1980s, and Trump has consistently denied wrongdoing. An administration official confirmed the memos are authentic but said they were deemed duplicative and not legally required for release under the Epstein Files Transparency Act.
The Department of Justice told NPR that 'nothing has been deleted' and that withheld material was duplicative or privileged. The Guardian has chosen not to publish the woman's name.
