Jacksonville Jaguars supporters were left astonished after quarterback Trevor Lawrence had his iconic flowing locks severed for the team's schedule release video. The creative media departments of NFL teams unveiled their highly anticipated videos for the 2026 season on Thursday evening, and few generated as much buzz as Jacksonville's production.
The Video: 'The Cut'
Titled 'The Cut', the footage shows Lawrence seated in a barber's chair, his luscious blond hair prominently displayed, while a barber dressed in a Jaguars jersey places a Jaguars-themed cape around him. As the team's schedule for the upcoming season begins to appear on screen, the barber picks up scissors and starts cutting. Large strands of hair fall to the floor while more games are revealed, and viewers catch brief glimpses of the haircut in progress.
Once the schedule release finishes, the barber spins Lawrence around, revealing an extremely sharp cut compared to his previous style. Fans were horrified by the final result, with some suggesting it was a wig or even generated by AI.
Fan Reactions
Social media erupted with reactions. One fan commented, 'Ok this cut is hideous. Please be a joke.' Another wrote, 'That gotta be a wig. I don't even hate Trevor Lawrence this much to give him that bad of a haircut.' A third fan described the cut as 'atrocious,' while another called it 'brutal.' Some compared Lawrence to Ellen DeGeneres, and one shocked fan exclaimed, 'Look at how they massacred my boy.' A particularly pessimistic Jaguars supporter even declared the season 'over' before it had begun.
Amid claims of a wig or AI trickery, the Jaguars posted a photo of Lawrence with his new look, captioned: 'AI could never.'
Personal Life
Earlier this week, Lawrence's wife Marissa teased the possibility of her husband getting a haircut by sharing a picture of hair clumps on the floor. The couple, high school sweethearts who met in 2016, got engaged in 2020 and married a year later. In January 2025, they welcomed their first child, a daughter named Shae Lynn.
Lawrence was selected by the Jaguars with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft out of Clemson. Last season marked his second playoff appearance (the first being in 2022), but the team was defeated by the Buffalo Bills in the opening round.
