The Only Way Is Essex star Jake Hall has been found dead at a villa in Mallorca. The 35-year-old former reality television personality was discovered unresponsive with head wounds reportedly caused by shards of glass.
Officers investigating the death said they were considering that he may have smashed his head through a glass door, according to reports. Police have spoken to four men and two women who were staying at the villa. The Spanish Civil Guard said it was investigating the incident, which appeared to be an accidental death.
Emergency services were called to the holiday rental at Santa Margalida, in the north of the island, at about 7.30am on Wednesday. No arrests have been made, and an autopsy is due to take place in Palma, the Mallorcan capital.
A Foreign Office spokesperson said: "We are supporting the family of a British man who has died in Spain and are in contact with the local authorities." Hall had been spending time in Mallorca with family and had posted videos and photographs of his holiday on Instagram in recent days. On Wednesday, he wrote: "Life is bollocks sometimes but I'm gonna try remember the good things – looking through things – I'm just making art – in many forms."
Hall, who owned a second home on the island, often spent time in Mallorca and recently unveiled a sculpture he had made there. The Only Way Is Essex production team paid tribute, saying: "Jake was a part of the Towie family for a number of years and we send our very deepest sympathies to his family and friends following today's very sad news." He is survived by his daughter, River, with Ladies of London star Missé Beqiri.
