Tom Hardy Axed from MobLand After Angering Helen Mirren

Tom Hardy has reportedly been axed from the Paramount+ series MobLand following a series of clashes with co-star Dame Helen Mirren and producers. New details have emerged about the 48-year-old actor's alleged behaviour on the set of the Guy Ritchie gangster drama, which ultimately led to his dismissal.

Hardy, who plays 'fixer' Harry Da Souza in the show, will not return for the third series despite having appeared in the first two. According to insiders, the actor was frequently late for filming, attempted to alter his lines, and grew frustrated that the series was increasingly focusing on his co-stars Helen Mirren, 80, and Pierce Brosnan, 73, who portray mob boss Conrad Harrigan and his wife Maeve.

Sources claim that Hardy's attitude 'enraged' Mirren, who is known for her professionalism and discipline. A source told The Daily Mail: 'Dame Helen is a joy. She is a total pro and has worked with so many people over the years. But she is getting increasingly frustrated with Tom and his attitude.' The source added that Hardy 'swaggers around like a King' and was often found playing games on his phone when he should have been elsewhere.

Hardy's alleged behaviour on MobLand mirrors previous reports of tension on the set of the 2015 film Mad Max: Fury Road, where he clashed with co-star Charlize Theron. Theron reportedly refused to be alone with Hardy and required a female producer as 'protection' due to his aggressive conduct. Hardy later acknowledged the difficulties, stating: 'In hindsight, I was in over my head in many ways. The pressure on both of us was overwhelming at times.'

Hardy has yet to address the latest claims regarding MobLand. Representatives for both Hardy and Mirren have been contacted for comment.

The series, created by Guy Ritchie, has been a hit for Paramount+, but the behind-the-scenes tensions have cast a shadow over its future. Despite the departure of its lead, the show is expected to continue with a focus on the characters played by Mirren and Brosnan.
