The final episode of The Boys is now streaming on Prime Video, bringing Eric Kripke's thrilling sci-fi series to a close. The show explores a world where superheroes, known as supes, are treated like celebrities but abuse their power behind closed doors. Over five seasons, the psychotic Homelander has led the charge, and in the final season, vigilante group The Boys have been trying to stop him from achieving immortality and establishing a New World Order.
In the finale, several major characters meet their end. Oh Father, the flashy preacher, is killed by Mother's Milk and Hughie, who place a ball gag on him just as he is about to release his sonic scream. His roar goes inward, causing his head to explode. The Deep also dies after Starlight blasts him into the ocean, where he is gruesomely killed by an octopus and its tentacles, fulfilling a warning from sea life that they held him responsible for an oil pipe leak.
Butcher's beloved dog Terror dies peacefully in his sleep, providing a rare moment of relief for viewers. The ultimate villain Homelander is killed in a fitting manner: Kimiko, having gained Soldier Boy's powers through radiation exposure, strips Homelander of his abilities, making him a mere mortal. Butcher then kills a powerless Homelander in the Oval Office in front of the world.
After Homelander's death, Butcher attempts to release a supe-killing virus through the sprinkler system, believing it is the only way to stop Vought. However, Hughie distracts him and shoots Butcher, killing him. The pair share one final sweet exchange before Butcher dies.
