Tess Daly's Daughter Hints at Mum's TikTok Debut After Split

Tess Daly and Vernon Kay's daughter Phoebe teased a new 'era' for her famous mother just hours before the couple confirmed they were 'amicably' splitting up. Former Strictly Come Dancing presenter Tess, 57, and Radio 2 host Vernon, 52, announced their separation after nearly 23 years of marriage in a joint Instagram statement on May 8.

Family Announcement

The couple, who tied the knot in September 2003 and have two daughters—Phoebe, 21, and Amber, 16—shared that the decision was made with 'deep care and respect' for one another. They emphasised that no other parties were involved and that they remain committed to co-parenting.

Phoebe's TikTok Tease

Shortly before the announcement, Phoebe posted a lighthearted TikTok video featuring her mother. The duo lip-synced to Salt-N-Pepa's hit 'Shoop,' with Phoebe pointing at Tess during the lyric 'mother.' In the caption, she wrote: 'Mum's TikTok era pending?' Fans flooded the comments, calling them 'gorgeous,' 'iconic,' and 'divas.'

Tess Daly recently stepped down from hosting Strictly Come Dancing after 21 years, alongside Claudia Winkleman, at the end of the 2025 series. She was also awarded an MBE for services to broadcasting in November 2025, with Vernon and Phoebe attending the ceremony at Windsor Castle. Vernon continues to host BBC Radio 2's mid-morning show and has fronted major ITV and BBC programmes.
