Teenager Removed From Court for Undressing During Peter Kay Bomb Hoax Hearing

A teenager accused of a bomb hoax at a Peter Kay concert was removed from court after he began stripping off during a video-link hearing. Omar Majed, 19, appeared at Birmingham Crown Court from HMP Brinsford on charges of communicating false information to police.

The hearing was cut short when prison officers escorted Majed out of the room after he started removing his grey tracksuit bottoms. Judge Andrew Smith KC noted for the record that prison staff had understandably removed the defendant.

The incident occurred during a Peter Kay show at Birmingham's Utilita Arena on May 1, part of his Better Late Than Never tour. Kay, 52, was rushed off stage and the show was cancelled after an evacuation. West Midlands Police later confirmed that nothing suspicious was found.
