Darrell Sheets, the Storage Wars star known as 'The Gambler', died by suicide at his home in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, on April 22, according to the Mohave County Medical Examiner's Office. The autopsy report, obtained by Us Weekly, revealed that Sheets had no drugs in his system at the time of his death.
The report stated that Sheets was a 'well-developed, well-nourished adult male' and that tests for benzodiazepines, cocaine, fentanyl, and other substances were all negative. The Lake Havasu City Police Department previously confirmed the suicide ruling and noted that toxicology results were pending.
Police are actively investigating allegations of cyberbullying linked to Sheets' death. A statement from the department said that Sheets' mobile phone has been submitted for forensic analysis, and additional information will be released as it becomes available. Co-star René Nezhoda claimed that Sheets had been 'really, really tormented' by cyberbullying before his death.
Sheets appeared on Storage Wars from its first season in 2010 until 2023. He suffered a heart attack in 2019 and later retired to Arizona, where he ran an antique store. He is survived by his son Brandon and daughter Tiffany.
