Stacey Solomon has insisted she will not allow ongoing divorce rumours to destroy her marriage to Joe Swash, despite admitting there are times when she wants her husband to “stay away”. The TV presenter and lifestyle guru, 36, has faced persistent speculation that her relationship is in crisis, with sources claiming their different career paths are pulling them apart.
In March, rumours intensified after Solomon was pictured without her wedding ring, and fans noticed its absence in some of her Instagram Stories. On Mother’s Day, she posted a family photo without Swash, 44, or her ring. However, last week she hit back, saying: “Who cares if the whole world is like, ‘Oh, they’re on the brink of divorce’? Being in the public eye creates certain pressures, but not on our relationship… If we know it’s not true, who cares?”
Speaking on her Sort Your Life Out Unpacked podcast, Solomon acknowledged that her marriage has its ups and downs. “Sometimes I fancy the pants off him and can’t wait to come home to see him. Sometimes I’m like, ‘Get out of my stratosphere – stay away from me.’ I think we’re just like any other couple,” she said.
A source told new that despite Solomon’s public dismissal of the rumours, she is deeply affected. “Stacey is fed up with the divorce rumours. All couples have their ups and downs, but they’re having theirs in the spotlight. Stacey is very sensitive and reads all the comments, whereas Joe is laid-back and says, ‘Don’t worry about it.’ It’s not been a good year for them, but they won’t let this break them.”
The couple, who met in 2010 after Solomon won I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, started dating in 2016 and held a ceremony at their Essex home, Pickle Cottage, in July 2022. However, in April it emerged they are not legally married. Solomon later clarified on Instagram: “I said we were not getting legally married… we’ll get legally married at a later point.”
With Solomon now reportedly worth £10 million, the source said her career commitments make it difficult to balance family life. “It’s a lot. Stacey thought she could handle it, but you’ve got that pressure bubble because they’re in the public eye. Joe is trying his best looking after the kids, but she’s the breadwinner, so it’s tricky.” The couple have three children together: Rex, seven, Rose, four, and Belle, three. Solomon also has two older sons from previous relationships, while Swash is father to 18-year-old Harry.
