Political Career

Sir Jeremy served as chairman of the Conservative Party for a year from July 1994 under Prime Minister Sir John Major. He also held various ministerial roles within Major's government. Representing Richmond and Barnes as a Member of Parliament for 14 years from 1983, he was a prominent figure in Conservative politics before stepping down from frontline politics.

Life After Politics

Following his political career, Sir Jeremy chaired Brain Games Network, a company specialising in puzzle and game development. He was the son of actress Dinah Sheridan and actor Jimmy Hanley, and brother of Magpie presenter Jenny Hanley. He is survived by his wife, three children, and five grandchildren.
