'If he doesn’t wanna do something, he just doesn’t do it,' Meyers quipped, referencing Trump's apparent disregard for tax obligations.
Meyers also highlighted Trump's declining approval ratings, even among his core base of white working-class men, leaving only 'Maha moms who love UFC and crypto.' He criticised Trump's focus on a 'slush fund for January 6 insurrectionists,' which was scrapped after causing division within the Republican party. 'Even Republicans disapprove of Trump’s priorities,' Meyers said, adding that they all go back to 'enriching himself.'
On Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the host discussed George Santos, whose sentence was commuted by Trump but who now faces potential prison time for alleged insider trading. Santos reportedly told followers he would attend the State of the Union address, leading to bets on his attendance, but then didn't go and profited from betting against himself. 'We can bet on whether he’s going to prison again,' Kimmel said, adding, 'in his defense, lip-fillers are very expensive.'
Kimmel also mocked Trump's boasts about passing cognitive tests, calling them 'a test to find out if grandpa needs someone to wipe him.' He ridiculed Trump's pride in the size of the Lincoln Memorial reflecting pool, which he is having repainted despite it being the same size as before. 'I want to see him swim the length of that pool or even just the width,' Kimmel joked.
