Burnley have announced the departure of manager Scott Parker with immediate effect, following the club's relegation from the Premier League. The decision was reached by mutual consent after discussions between Parker and the board.
Record-Breaking Season Followed by Relegation
Parker guided the Clarets to a historic 2024/25 Championship campaign, securing promotion to the Premier League with a 31-match unbeaten run and an impressive 30 clean sheets. However, Burnley struggled in the top flight and were relegated after just one season.
A club statement expressed gratitude for Parker's professionalism and dedication, stating: 'He leaves with the respect and gratitude of everyone connected with Burnley Football Club.'
Interim Management and Search for Successor
Mike Jackson will take interim charge for the remaining four Premier League fixtures, starting with Friday's away match against Leeds United. The club has already begun the process of appointing a new permanent head coach ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Burnley's relegation marks a swift return to the Championship, and the club will look to rebuild under new leadership.
