Savannah Guthrie has issued an emotional plea as the search for her missing mother Nancy reaches 100 days. The Today Show host's mother was last seen on January 31, and police believe she was abducted from her home in Tucson, Arizona.
Mother's Day Appeal
On Mother's Day in the United States, Savannah shared a heartbreaking appeal on Instagram, ending with the message: "Bring her home." She wrote: "Mother, daughter, sister, Nonie - we miss you with every breath. We will never stop looking for you. We will never be at peace until we find you."
She continued: "We need help. Someone knows something that can make the difference. Call 1800CALLFBI. You can be anonymous and the reward remains available. Please keep praying. Bring her home."
Support from Colleagues and Followers
Piers Morgan was among those offering support, sharing a red love heart emoji. Hoda Kotb wrote: "i love you sg …..Bring her home." The post included several photos and videos of happier times, showing Savannah and Nancy smiling together, as well as throwback images from Savannah's childhood and the grandmother with her grandchildren.
Previous Appeals
This is not the first time Savannah has reached out to the public. In March, during a half-hour special TV show titled "Bring Her Home," she said: "We are deeply grateful for the outpouring from neighbours, friends and the people of Tucson." The family issued a statement: "We continue to believe it is Tucsonans, and the greater southern Arizona community, that hold the key to finding a resolution in this case. Someone knows something."
The statement urged the community to review camera footage, journal notes, text messages, and conversations that might hold significance, adding: "No detail is too small. It may be the key." It concluded: "We miss our mom with every breath and we cannot be in peace until she is home. We cannot grieve; we can only ache and wonder."
Recent Departure from Today Show
Her latest plea comes days after she abruptly left the Today Show midway through the broadcast. Co-host Craig Melvin explained: "Savannah had to leave a little early today. She'll be right back tomorrow, though." No further explanation was given, leading to speculation about a possible development in her mother's case.
Nancy, 84, has been missing since January 31. Police believe she was kidnapped from her home and continue the search for suspects. As of yet, no viable clues or suspects have been confirmed. A man's trial date has been set for creating fake ransom notes concerning Nancy's kidnapping.
