Rebekah Vardy and her footballer husband Jamie have reportedly signed a major deal with ITV for a reality series titled The Vardys, which will follow their family as they settle into their new life in Italy. The series aims to provide unprecedented access to the couple and their children, including Megan, 20, Taylor, 15, Sofia, 14, Finley, eight, and Olivia, six.
However, early ratings for the show have been disappointing, with initial figures falling well below ITV's expectations. An insider suggested that public interest in the Vardys may have waned following the infamous 'Wagatha Christie' scandal, which saw Rebekah lose a libel case against Coleen Rooney and be ordered to pay £1.6 million in legal costs.
The couple relocated to Italy after Jamie joined US Cremonese, a move that was reportedly driven by Rebekah's need for a fresh start and to rebuild her public image. The series was intended to capitalise on their new life abroad, but low viewership has cast doubt on its future.
ITV has not commented on the ratings, and representatives for Rebekah Vardy have declined to respond to inquiries. The show's performance will likely determine whether additional episodes are commissioned.
