Rebekah Vardy has opened up about a difficult moment in her marriage to Jamie Vardy, revealing that the footballer missed a pregnancy scan because he had been drinking. The couple, who met in 2014 when Rebekah was a nightclub promoter and Jamie a Leicester City star, have faced numerous challenges in their relationship, as detailed in a new Netflix documentary.
In the documentary 'Untold: Jamie Vardy', Rebekah recalls that Jamie failed to attend a scan for their first child together because he had been out drinking. The incident highlights the strains the couple have endured, including the infamous 'Wagatha Christie' trial and family tensions. Despite these difficulties, Rebekah has described her marriage to Jamie as 'the only relationship I'd ever felt stable in'.
The couple married in 2016 at Peckforton Castle in Cheshire, with a guest list including Louis Tomlinson and Kasabian's Sergio Pizzorno. However, the wedding was marked by the absence of both sets of parents. Rebekah's mother Alison did not attend, reportedly due to a breakdown in their relationship stemming from Rebekah's childhood abuse not being believed. Jamie's parents were also missing from the ceremony.
Rebekah has spoken candidly about her troubled past, including abuse and homelessness as a teenager. She credits Jamie with providing stability, despite the ups and downs. The documentary offers a rare glimpse into their private life, showing how they have navigated personal and public challenges together.
