Best friends Jo and Kush from Liverpool have been crowned winners of Race Across the World 2026, after racing over 12,000 km through Europe and Asia. The pair were the first to reach the final checkpoint in Hatgal, Mongolia, securing the £20,000 prize.
Sprinting through snow-covered forests, father and daughter Andrew and Molly came second, just three hours behind. Siblings Katie and Harrison finished third, while in-laws Mark and Margo arrived fourth, 25 hours later.
Celebrating their victory, Kush said: “I can’t put it into words bro!” Jo added: “The dream from the start was opening the final book and seeing it empty, so that actually happening... it’s hard to get my head around it.”
The eight-part series saw teams travel across Eurasia over 51 days, navigating without smartphones or bank cards. The final episode airs at 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer, followed by a reunion special.
Kush reflected: “It feels like a fever dream. It’s such a bittersweet feeling... but it shows that all our hard work, sacrifice, loss of sleep and hunger has all succeeded.”
