Fashion retailer Quiz is set to close its 37 remaining stores by the end of June, administrators have announced. The company entered administration in February after experiencing a challenging start to 2026, appointing insolvency specialists from Interpath.
Store Closure Timeline
The administrators confirmed on Thursday that a closure plan for the final stores will be implemented over the coming weeks. Three stores—in Castlecourt (Belfast), Leeds, and Romford—have already shut their doors permanently in recent days. The exact timing for the remaining closures has not yet been disclosed.
Impact on Workforce
Quiz has not confirmed how many employees will be affected by the closures. However, more than 100 head office and warehouse jobs were placed at risk when the company first entered administration. This marks the second time Quiz has entered administration within a year, having previously collapsed in February 2025 before being immediately acquired in a pre-pack deal by a subsidiary of the founding Ramzan family.
Concessions and Discounts
Quiz concessions located within New Look and Matalan stores in the UK are not included in the administration and remain unaffected. To clear remaining stock, administrators have implemented heavy discounts of at least 60% across all stores, aiming to sell off as much inventory as possible to repay the company’s outstanding debts.
Alistair McAlinden, head of Interpath in Scotland and joint administrator, urged shoppers to visit their local stores during the May bank holiday weekend as the final closing-down sale commences. Geoff Jacobs, managing director at Interpath and fellow joint administrator, expressed gratitude to Quiz staff for their dedication and professionalism throughout these difficult circumstances.
