Police Chase Ends in Carnage with Multiple Cars Wrecked

A police chase in Plumstead, south-east London, ended in chaos when a fleeing driver crashed into a row of parked cars on a quiet residential street. Doorbell footage captured the moment the vehicle lost control on Ancona Road in the early hours of Monday, before officers apprehended the driver and recovered a stash of drugs.

Collision Details

The video shows the car careering at high speed into a row of vehicles parked on the left side of the street, outside terraced houses, after police attempted to pull it over for erratic driving. The incident occurred just before 2 a.m., waking residents with an almighty crash. Witnesses described it as the worst collision they had ever seen.

The driver ploughed into at least three cars, including a white Fiat that was thrown metres into the air, leaving six vehicles completely written off. Seconds later, police cars filled the street with blue lights, and officers sprinted towards the crash scene. Off camera, the injured driver attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended and arrested before being taken to hospital. Class A drugs were later recovered from the vehicle.

The white Fiat belonged to the mother of Naddia Khan, who told the Daily Mail: 'We were all asleep and woke up to the sound of a big crash at 2am. We were really shaken up, and still are. The Fiat involved is my mum's. It was the worst collision any of us have ever seen, with seven cars damaged - and six of them written off. This has never happened in this area as far as I know - it's a horrific incident. The damage to my mum's car was horrendous. We are still trying to overcome the shock we felt when we walked outside on the night.'

Naddia recorded a video of police inspecting the pile of twisted metal blocking the road, with a cordon in place. Photos from the following morning show the Fiat lying on its side on the pavement, entirely mangled. Other cars were shunted down the road, their doors ripped clean off.
