Police were called to Frankie Valli’s Los Angeles home on Sunday evening after a report that his estranged son, Francesco Valli Jr., had allegedly violated a restraining order. The Los Angeles Police Department responded to a 911 call about a domestic dispute at the 92-year-old singer’s residence.
Dispatch audio obtained by People magazine revealed that someone reported Francesco, 38, was “banging on the door demanding entry.” However, by the time officers arrived moments later, Francesco had already fled. Police found no evidence of a crime and no report was taken; no arrests were made.
Frankie’s representatives described the incident as “a private family matter” that was resolved before authorities arrived. In April 2024, Frankie and his younger son Emilio were granted a three-year restraining order against Francesco after he allegedly tried to break into his father’s property.
Emilio claimed in the filing that Francesco had “repeatedly physically threatened to harm or kill” him and Frankie, and that the threats had been ongoing for months. The family believes Francesco is addicted to opiates and had pawned some of Frankie’s belongings to support his habit. The restraining order, which expires in April 2027, prohibits Francesco from contacting his brother and father and requires him to stay at least 100 yards from their homes, cars, and workplaces.
Frankie Valli shares Francesco and twins Emilio and Brando with his third wife, Randy Clohessy. He also had three daughters with his first wife, Mary Mandel, two of whom died in separate incidents in 1980.
