Channel 5's new thriller, Number One Fan, premieres tonight at 9pm, promising a gripping tale of obsession and danger. The four-part series stars Sally Lindsay and Jill Halfpenny, and follows a popular TV presenter whose life unravels after she befriends a seemingly devoted fan.
The plot centres on Lucy Logan, a beloved breakfast show host with a massive social media following. After being rescued from a mugging by Donna, who claims to be her biggest fan, Lucy invites her into her inner circle. However, Donna's obsession soon takes a sinister turn, threatening Lucy's perfect life.
Sally Lindsay, known for her roles in Coronation Street and The Madame Blanc Mysteries, plays Donna Hughes, the obsessive fan. Jill Halfpenny, famed for Byker Grove and Waterloo Road, portrays Lucy Logan. The cast also includes Daniel Adegboyega as Shawn Logan, Dean Andrews as Stewart Jones, and Sharlene Whyte as Mel.
The series airs across four consecutive nights, with each episode lasting one hour. Episodes will be available to stream on My5 after broadcast. Viewers can expect a tense, unsettling drama that explores the dark side of fame and fandom.
