Jay-Z Calls Out Nicki Minaj Over Trump Support in Rare Solo Performance

Jay-Z took aim at Nicki Minaj during a rare solo performance at the Roots Picnic in Philadelphia on Saturday, criticising her support for Donald Trump and referencing the rape conviction of her husband, Kenneth Petty.

The 56-year-old rapper debuted new lyrics targeting Minaj, rapping: 'That lady back on the stuff, she sound like she in love with him / Her Ken can’t even pick they kids, enough of them.' He also referenced her MAGA ties, adding: 'A rapper can’t be my opp, I got MAGA Republicans.'

Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, later brought out Minaj’s ex-boyfriend Meek Mill to perform 'Dreams and Nightmares.' The performance also included jabs at Kanye West, Drake, Tory Lanez, and Roc-A-Fella co-founder Damon Dash.

Minaj, 43, has not publicly responded to the criticism. She previously appeared with Trump at a US Treasury event in March, where she called herself his 'number one fan' and said her support would 'not change.' In a February podcast interview, she explained her backing was due to feeling Trump was 'bullied.'
