Allie Shehorn, 35, the Los Angeles makeup artist left for dead by her abusive ex-boyfriend, actor Nick Pasqual, has spoken out for the first time. She showed off scars on her neck, shoulder, arms and wrist as she faced him in court in San Fernando, California.
Shehorn suffered more than 20 stab wounds in the attack at her Sunland home on May 23. Pasqual, 35, who appeared in How I Met Your Mother, attempted to flee to Mexico but was apprehended in Texas and extradited back to California. He faces charges including attempted murder, burglary and domestic violence.
Speaking exclusively to DailyMail.com, Shehorn said she almost died from her injuries and will attend every hearing to show Pasqual 'he can't get away with it'. She spent over a week in hospital and still bears vivid scarring, including to her throat. One hand remains in a cast, and she has partial vision loss and no feeling in her hands.
Pasqual is also charged over an attack three days prior, when he allegedly banged her head on the floor. Shehorn's restraining order application details other assaults, including hitting her with a belt and raping and choking her. A hearing on the restraining order was delayed due to Pasqual's extradition.
In court, Pasqual wore blue prison scrubs and avoided eye contact, speaking only to waive his rights. His objection to media coverage was overruled. Shehorn vowed to attend every hearing, saying, 'People should know that this shouldn't happen and he can't get away with it.'
