A 39-year-old woman from Hounslow, west London, has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man's body was discovered in a van in Leicester, over 100 miles away.
Leicestershire Police found the body in a parked vehicle on Garden Street at around 5.30pm on Wednesday. The van is registered to an address in Hounslow.
The woman was arrested on Friday and remains in police custody. The man has not yet been identified, and an investigation into the cause of death is ongoing.
The Metropolitan Police has taken over the investigation and has established a crime scene at a house in Sutton Dene, Hounslow. Detective Chief Inspector Alex Gammampila said: “I’d like to thank Leicestershire Police for their initial enquiries, which led to a swift arrest.”
Police are appealing for information, particularly from anyone who may have seen the van travelling to Leicester before Wednesday, or who has doorbell or dashcam footage. Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting 9873/28MAY, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
