Love Island stars Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury have ended their relationship after five years together, the couple confirmed on Instagram. The reality star, who turned 27 on Wednesday, announced the split in a heartfelt post, describing herself as 'extremely upset'. The pair met on the hit ITV show in 2019 and have a one-year-old daughter, Bambi.
In her statement, Molly-Mae wrote: 'Never in a million years did I ever think I'd have to write this. After five years of being together I never imagined our story would end, especially not this way. I am extremely upset to announce that mine and Tommy's relationship has come to an end.' She added that her daughter will 'always be my priority'.
Tommy Fury, a professional boxer, also shared a statement, saying he is 'heartbroken' and that Bambi is their priority. He proposed to Molly-Mae during a holiday in Ibiza last year. The split comes after months of speculation, including Molly-Mae being spotted without her engagement ring earlier this year.
Just days before the announcement, Molly-Mae had posted a candid vlog on YouTube in which she admitted to struggling with solo parenting while Tommy worked on an audiobook. She described the week as 'the most intense' of her life and said she had been 'solo parenting for like, two weeks now'. The couple had previously denied split rumours in May after Molly-Mae missed Tommy's brother Tyson Fury's boxing match.
The news has shocked fans, who had followed the couple's journey since their time on Love Island. Molly-Mae had also previously broken down in tears on camera after becoming a new mother, admitting she was 'struggling' and that her brain felt like 'jumble'. The split announcement came hours after she posted about a getaway on Instagram Stories, which she later deleted.
