Mel B Says Spice Girls Netflix Documentary Has Been 'Axed'
Mel B: Spice Girls Netflix Doc Has Been Axed

Mel B has revealed that a planned Netflix documentary focusing on the Spice Girls is no longer moving forward, describing the situation as 'a shame'. The 51-year-old singer appeared on ITV's Good Morning Britain, where she disclosed that discussions surrounding a 30th anniversary reunion tour next year have also stalled.

Netflix Documentary Uncertainty

When asked by host Susanna Reid about the rumoured Netflix documentary, Mel B replied: 'Well, I don't think anything's happening, I think something was, but I don't think it's actually going to be happening now after all, which is a shame.' When probed on why the project was axed, she responded: 'I'll tell you in the dressing room!' Netflix has been contacted for comment.

Reunion Tour Hopes Dashed

Mel B also addressed the possibility of a Spice Girls reunion tour, stating: 'I think you know if it's going to happen, it will happen, and I'm always for a Spice Girls reunion, don't get me wrong.' When asked if some band members were reluctant, she said: 'Well, everybody has their own lives, you know what I mean, without saying too much. I'm hoping, I'm always hopeful, you know me.'

In a recent interview with Hello! magazine, Mel B shed further light on the proposed docuseries, explaining: 'I think we've all been asked and were all thinking about it at some point. But it has to be done in the right way, and it has to be honest - and not everybody wants to be honest.'

30th Anniversary Celebrations

Regarding the 30th anniversary of their breakthrough hit Wannabe, Mel B played down expectations of a live reunion with fellow band members Geri Horner, Emma Bunton, Melanie C, and Victoria Beckham. She told Hello!: 'I can tell you that it's not happening. If it does, it'll be a shock to me, let's put it that way. When I look at that (tour) and at the feeling it gave me, I was in my element, but there comes a time... I'm 50. You can't be nagging everyone to go on tour if they don't want to. I laid that to rest when I turned 50.'

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV1.
