The US Department of Justice has released the transcript and audio recording of an interview with convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell, conducted by Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche. The materials, released in the interest of transparency, cover a two-day interview in July and include redacted transcripts and multiple audio recordings.
In the transcript, Maxwell stated she never saw Donald Trump in any inappropriate setting, praising him repeatedly. 'I actually never saw the president in any type of massage setting. I never witnessed the president in any inappropriate setting in any way. The president was never inappropriate with anybody,' she said. Maxwell also said she was not aware of any 'client list' of Jeffrey Epstein's.
Maxwell detailed the social relationship between Trump and Epstein, describing them as friendly but not close friends. She noted she never saw Trump in Epstein's home. The interview also covered Epstein's relationship with Bill Clinton, with Maxwell saying Clinton liked her but she never saw similar warmth between Clinton and Epstein.
The Department of Justice granted Maxwell limited immunity for the interview but did not promise anything in exchange for her testimony. Maxwell, 63, is serving a 20-year sentence for helping Epstein sexually abuse teenage girls. Following the interview, she was moved to a minimum-security prison camp in Texas, sparking speculation about a possible deal.
