Maxwell Lawyer Demands DoJ Release Epstein Interview

Ghislaine Maxwell, the former associate of Jeffrey Epstein, has been interviewed by US Department of Justice officials as part of an ongoing review of the Epstein case. Her lawyer, David Markus, stated that she answered every question honestly and to the best of her ability during the meeting with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche in Tallahassee, Florida.

The interview, which took place on Thursday, is expected to continue on Friday. Markus described the session as productive, noting that Maxwell did not invoke any privilege or decline to answer any questions. The meeting comes amid mounting political pressure on the Trump administration to release more details about the Epstein investigation.

Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking and other crimes at a federal prison in Florida. Her brother, Ian Maxwell, claimed that she has prepared new evidence that was not available during her 2021 trial, which could have significantly impacted the outcome.

The renewed focus on the Epstein case follows the Justice Department's announcement earlier this month that it would not release additional documents from the investigation, despite earlier promises by President Trump and Attorney General Pam Bondi. This decision has drawn criticism from both sides of the political aisle.

Reports have emerged that Trump was informed by Bondi in May that his name appears multiple times in the Epstein files, along with many other high-profile individuals. The White House has denied these claims. Meanwhile, the House oversight committee has voted to subpoena the Justice Department for the Epstein files.
