Mary Trump, the niece of US President Donald Trump, has alleged in her new tell-all book that her uncle threw a baseball hard at her when she was five years old. The claim is one of several shocking passages in 'Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World's Most Dangerous Man', published on 14 July.
Ms Trump, a clinical psychologist, describes her uncle as a 'narcissist' who threatens the life of every American. She writes that for him, 'nothing is ever enough' and that his ego is a fragile thing that must be constantly bolstered. The White House has rejected the claims, and the Trump family unsuccessfully sued to block the book.
In the memoir, Ms Trump also alleges that her uncle paid a friend to take his SAT university entrance exam, a claim the White House denies. She further details how she supplied tax documents to the New York Times for a 2018 investigative article on Mr Trump's 'dubious tax schemes'.
Ms Trump blames the family patriarch, Fred Trump Sr, for much of the dysfunction, claiming he 'destroyed' Donald by limiting his emotional development and teaching him to be a 'killer'. The White House has described the president's relationship with his father as 'warm'.
