Man Fined £400 for Racist Abuse of Ex-BBC Presenter

A man has been fined £400 for subjecting a former BBC presenter and her team to racist abuse in Leicester city centre. Leicestershire Police confirmed the penalty following an incident that occurred on Sunday.

The victim, Sima Kotecha, was preparing to broadcast for the BBC when she and her production team were targeted. The segment was subsequently cancelled, and the matter was reported to authorities.

In a statement, the BBC expressed outrage, saying: 'We are appalled by what happened … We will not tolerate racism or abuse of our staff.' The force did not disclose the offender's name or age.
